This is one of the things that've been on my 'Before I die' (vel. 'As long as I'll be running a blog', haha, yep, fashion bloggers are weird) list since I can remember - to do a photoshoot in some vintage rotifers. I love every kind of sport (well, almost every, let's be honest, volleyball is some kind of a nightmare or something, but let's not discuss this awful disipline on my blog) and I can't imagine my life without evening running sessions, crazy zumba classes, bike rides through my town or morning squats. The truth is, I much prefer rollerblades to rotifers, I find them much more comfy and I simply love them. But the thing is.. they're not thay pretty, right?! And we're supposed to talk about pretty, about beautiful things around us, especially on a blog (who whants ugly pictures on his personal site? Who?. So here I am, in a 90s inspired look (what do you think about this tatoo choker? I personally got addicted to this recently!), skating like a crazy in the middle of my hometown.  Looking at the pictures, I spotted that all the colours match perfectly: white, red and blue on, both, clothes and rollers. To zdjęcie znalazłam na pulpicie komputera dzisiaj wieczorem. Czekało sobie grzecznie na publikację od dwóch miesięcy, aż w końcu się za to zabrałam. Prawda jest tak, że ostatnio nie czytam za wiele, chociaż bardzo to lubię. Zawsze znajdzie się jakiś nowy blog do przejrzenia, artykuł do pochłonięcia podczas śniadania, wywiad do obejrzenia, pokaz do przeanalizowania albo nowe wydanie magazynu, z którym nie wypada być w tyle. Czasami Internetowy światek zdaje się męczący i nadrabiam potężne zaległości. Tak więc kompletnie niemodowo, świetna lektura od której nie oderwiecie się aż skończycie. Mistrz kryminału, Walencja w tle, wątki związane ze sztuką i architekturą, chłodny wieczór zajęty!

I found this picture on my desktop today I thought that I definetely should post it (after two months, haha, always the same story). The truth is, I don't read a lot these days. I guess I've got too much into this whole digital world full of super-duper interesting articles to read on the Net, blogs to follow, videos to watch and songs to listen to. I also blame it on fashion magazines - believe me or not, when you're running a life of a 17-year-old-girl who never sits, let's be forcible, on her butt, but does ten things at one time it is hard to find time. And no, I'm not this kind of gal who parties a lot, sleeps till midday or launges around in her pyjamas. I know I can get myself together, like, spare some time on workout or a photoshoot for a blog. But with books... it's always hard. In the school year I have many other (well, not interesting, just saying..) lectures, in summer - I'm a workaholic. And yes, I'm reading those stupid magazines. But here's the one I can recommend you for sure - if you haven't head it already. It's constructed just in a way I like it - a criminal story, based in Valencia, with art and history in the background. And, it's Dan Brown, a master in this kind of books you'll read till you drop. A must!

Niektóre marki znają wszyscy (więcej o tym pisałam już jakiś czas temu). Firma Levi Strauss & Co. to typowy przykład giganta w swojej branży, jak Apple wśród telefonów i komputerów, Chanel jeśli chodzi o ubrania, torebki i kosmetyki, czy Microsoft w odniesieniu do systemów komputerowych. Levi Strauss wyczuł potrzebę rynku - w 1853 roku przyjechał do San Francisco, gdzie zaczął masowo produkować dżinsowe ogrodniczki, na które panował popyt w związku z budową Kanału Panamskiego i potrzebami robotników - w końcu w smokingach tych rowów nie kopali. Dzisiaj Levisy 501 to modowy klasyk, a w ich sklepach możemy kupić nie tylko spodnie, ale też inne produkty z dżinsu i nie tylko - kurtki puchowe, buty, torby, Tshirty. Myślę, że warto kiedyś zainwestować w jedną parę, którą będziecie nosić latami. Jak jednak wiadomo, znacznie kusząca (i jakże mylna, ale nadal prawdziwa) jawi się opcja kupienia kilku par w tańszych sieciówkach, co ułatwiają w tym przypadku second handy. Praktycznie w każdym znajduje się długi wieszak pełen vintage'owych dżinsów. Zazwyczaj ciężko trafić na swój rozmiar, ale tę parę, którą widzicie na zdjęciach kupiłam własnie w lumpeksie i obcięłam. Od dawna nosiłam się z zamiarem stworzenia spodenek o takiej długości - nie shortów, ale też nie, znienawidzonych przeze mnie, rybaczek. Mają wysoki stan więc idealnie pasują do krótkich topów. A Wy, nosicie klasyczne jeansy? :)

Some brands are known worlwide. Levi Strauss & Co is like Apple when it comes to phones and computers, Microsoft among computer systems or Chanel in clothes, bags and cosmetics. Levi Strauss was one of those who knew what the market wants - in 1853 he came to San Francisco. Because of the building of Panama Channel the workers needed something to wear - so did Levi sell them the denim dungarees. Nowadays Levis 501 are the fashion classics, and in the Levis' shops we can not only buy the jeans but also many other items like bags, jackets or shoes. I think it is worth inversting in one of these, although we are tempted to buy much less expensive pants in shops like H&M or Zara. This is why I'm showing you today mines - I bought them in second hand and I bet that in every little thrift shop there is a huge hanger full of vintage jeans. I know it is hard to find ones in your size, but I'm the best proof that you can. I cut them since I wanted to have some 'longer shorts', just to experiment with lenghts. The other advantage of them is that they're high-waisted so I can easily pair them with a crop tops, which I've been recenly loving.

Okej, więc sprawy mają się następująco (wiem, niezbyt elegancki sposób na rozpoczęcie tekstu): im więcej czasu mija, tym ciężej jest mi zabrać się, żeby napisać o wszystkim po kolei. Jestem największą fanką dodawania relacji na bieżąco, zaraz po danym wydarzenie, w tym momencie kiedy nasz umysł jest bezpośrednio zaaferowany daną sprawą/pokazem i możemy wszystko ocenić "na świeżo". Jednak niestety, jako że marna ze mnie profesjonalna blogerka (jakoś dziwnie to słowo brzmi, ale chyba, mimo wszystko, jestem twórcą strony internetowej... no dobra, blogerką) nie miałam czasu, żeby się za to poważnie zabrać, przemyśleć i opisać. Więc, nadchodzę! Przed nami kilka pokazów z trzeciego i ostatni, finałowy, z czwartego dnia Fashionable East Białystok.
Okay, so here is the thing. The more time passes, the harder I find it to write about everything. I'm the biggest fan of uploading posts daily and just after something happened - just to have my mind clear and simply still affected by the events that had happened. But since I'm not such a proffesional blogger I'd wish to be, and since I had no time/no power/no computer to upload and put myself together and WRITE it all, here I come! The review of the fashion shows which took place on the 3rd and the last, 4th day of Fashionable East event in Białystok. 




Podobnie jak w czwartek przy P.Androsiuku, kiedy usłyszałam, że Ewelina Lewczuk pochodzi z Białegostoku, nie mogłam się doczekać. W końcu, wiecie, ktoś urodził się tu gdzie ja (!) (wow, Karolina, to u Was jest coś oprócz żubrów?!) i mogę teraz obejrzeć jego (ekhm, jej) prace na wybiegu. Wracając do samego pokazu - nie będę kłamać. To nie jest kolekcja, która zrobiła na mnie największe wrażenie i była szczególnie dopracowana. Szarości przeplatane z jasnym odcieniem błękitu dominowały na eleganckich, geometrycznie skrojonych bluzkach i marynarkach. Nie do końca rozumiem pomysł krótkich narzutek - pojawiły się na wybiegu jedynie dwie, kontrastując z późniejszymi odkrytymi ramionami. Zdecydowany plus za próby okiełznania tiulu (jeśli jesteście ze mną już jakiś czas bez wątpienia wiecie zarówno o mojej dziecięcej miłości do tego materiału, jak i o mojej Wiecznej Tiulówce z podstawówki, której godna następczyni pojawia się co jakiś czas w stylizacjach), nie zawsze jednak, jak dla mnie, udane (maxi wystająca spod długiej bluzki - gdzie to założyć? Na ślub, do pracy czy na grilla? Bo chyba średnio pasuje na każdą z tych okazji. Chyba że potraktujemy to jako inspirację z lookbooka, do popatrzenia). Zawsze doceniam wszelkie zabawy z transparentnymi wstawkami, szczególnie na grubym, eleganckim materiale (zdj. 1, 3, 5), więc i tutaj dodały odrobinę geometryczności i zarazem szyku. Trzymam kciuki za dalszy rozwój Eweliny!

So first thing first, I was (again) quite extited to see somebody's from Białystok show. It was all for Ewelina Lewczuk. Not going to lie, I haven't heard about her before. But as soon as I found out that she's my town-mate (haha, can I even call people from my town like that? LOL) I got some goose bumps on my skin and rushed from the bus stop to the place where the shows were taking place. Okay, so again, no lies - she got something. Of course it wasn't the collection that would change your point of view, give you inspiration for your daily basic or make you wanna giggle and dance and crawl on the floor (okay I actually should have written the reviews two weeks ago. It's getting worse and worse..) BUT it had some interesting parts. If you're following me you may know that I love tulle. I used to have this one pink tulle skirt in primary school and would wear it like for five years and then I got a new one (let's say, more mature one), beige tulle skirt which I'm still wearing, quite often, I would say. So coming back to the collection, first good point of the collection was, for sure, the amount of tulle (oh Gosh what am I doing with my blog this actually doesn't sound like a fashion review....). The whole idea of little grey overlays on the model's arms was quite interesting, but I feel like it was something taken out from the context. Collection is mostly based on grey and I appreciate she gave it a go instead, like many of deisgners, just focus on blacks. Okay, I've already pointed out that I like tulle and obviously you can do something interesting about this material, but in this case I think it was a fail when we think about how a woman looks in it - a maxi tulle skirt paired with an elegant blouse-kind-of-piece? Definetely not classy. I loved what the designer did about baby blue - it matches perfectly with greys and the midi skirt is a thing that every girl could wear no matter the age. Although the tailoring may not be satisfying (couldn't bare how some of the clothes didn't fit the models at all) I liked the cuts and the transparent fillings in the tops. 

Na kolejną część czekałam z niecierpliwością. Zdaję sobie sprawę, że projektanci prezentujący swoje kolekcje liczą się z potrzebą faktycznej funkcjonalności proponowanych ubrań, ale ja lubię na wybiegu obserwować też ciekawe wizje, pomysły, inspiracje nie do końca do noszenia na co dzień. Miałam nadzieję, że to właśnie pokażą studenci naszego Łódzkiego ASP i nie zawiodłam się.

The next part was definetely something I wanted to see and was looking forward - the ASP Students' collections (which is a polish arts school based in Łódź). Don't get me wrong, I know that fashion is supposed to be worn and be comfortable and all that stuff, but I just can't stop thinking how much I do love haute couture collections and how excited I alwas am to watch some of the biggest world-known designers' ideas on the catwalk. Coming back to our little Białystok, I was thrilled to see what the students made up, simply because I know that many of people at this university are talented and doing something on a high level (meaning: no basics, no simple normcore outfits, just their own vision and creativity). We had three designers together: Agnieszka Zarzycka, Milena Sobierajska and Sebastian Piotr Kozdój. And each of them showed something diffrent but still fascinating.

Propozycje Agnieszki Zarzyckiej zostały zainspirowane kulturą Celtycką i wszystkie opierały się na ciężkich, grubych materiałach przywodzących na myśl niecywilizowane plemiona. Podobał mi się sposób w jaki łączyła materiały, odsłonięte brzuchy zestawiała z topornym obuwiem i masywnymi płaszczami, a modele i modelki nosili ciemny, wyrazisty makijaż.

First part was quite darkish and consisting of tough, fleshy materials - fluffy furs, inspired by Celitcs materials such as furs (again) worn on legs, heavy leather shoes and rough-looking coats. We had heavy, geometrical cuts, The music went on strongly, the models walked slowly and majesticly and I felt like in the modern jungle (hard to forget about all those mod-cons everywhere).


Jako druga swoją kolekcję zaprezentowała Milena Sobierajska. Skupiła się na bieli z holograficznymi elementami. Jej kobieta, a może powinnam nazwać ją "dziewczyną" to odważna, ceniąca sobie wygodę osoba, fanka jasnych trampek na platformie zestawianych z prześwitującymi shortami i spódnicami. Podobały mi się ciekawe elementy nadające całości wyrazu - białe podkolanówki, przeźroczysty kaptur w bluzie, warstwy i sztywny płaszcz. Zastanawia mnie jednak jakość niektórych, stylizowanych na poszarpane, materiałów. Polecam Wam również zobaczyć kampanię tej kolekcji.

The second designer was Milena Sobierajcka. She focused on white total looks with some holographic elements. Her woman, or should I say "girl" is adventurous, likes being comfortable and matching platform trainers with see-through shorts and skirts. I liked the details which complemented the whole outfits like under-knee socks, transparent hood, many layers or a stiff coat. However, I wonder about the quality of some ragged-styled pieces. Here you may see the photoshooting campaign of the collection. 

Ostatnią kolekcją studentów ASP była "Gloomy Sunday" Piotra Kozdoja. Sześć prezentowanych męskich sylwetek zostało przedstawionych przy akompaniamencie starodawnej, klimatycznej muzyki i filmu dyplomowego Piotra (do obejrzenia tutaj). Obecnie nadruki święcą swoje triumfy głównie w markach typowo streetwear'owych (bluzy z motywami hamburgera, lasu, zwierząt etc. chociażby w ofercie Aloha From Deer), ale pozostają też takie osobistości jak, uwielbiana przeze mnie, Mary Karantzou i jej kolorowe motywy na ubraniach. Piotr skupił się na barokowych printach, ubierając mężczyzn w, na pozór proste i najbardziej eleganckie zestawienie białej koszuli, marynarki i spodni z czarnymi oxfordkami, bawiąc się przy tym krojami (skrócona długość marynarki, zdj 5) i, co najbardziej widoczne, wspomnianymi wyżej wzorami.

Last but not least, we had Piotr Kozdój's 'Gloomy Sunday" collection mainly consisting of baroque-inspired prints. In the background there was deigner's movie which he prepared for his university as he has recenly graduated. These days prints are mostly popular among streetwear brans, like e.g. Aloha From Deer where we can buy sweatshirts with a huge hamburger, crazy cat or a forest. However, Piotr did something more than just put prints on sweatshirts - he showed an elegant, XVI-th century man, with his oxford shoes and white shirts. I'm in!
